We have plenty of members who have travelled abroad over the years. Depending on the country you'll need to sign up to charging apps and slowly but surely the EU tap-and-charge capability will be implemented.
Not all charge points have the tap and charge facility, but this is lowly being rolled out as part of the EU directive. Currently the main suppliers for DC charging are eCars, Tesla (only Tesla), EasyGo, Ionity, AppleGreen, Circle K and ePower. Each have their own apps.
The advertised charing speed is typically the peak charging rate a car can do. However this depends on the state of charge and each car model has their own charging curve. For information on the charging curve for your car, check out ev-database.org.
Our recent survey has shown that EV owners have different suppliers and different plans. Depending on how often, at what time of day or even what meter or meter plan you have, it is always best to do your numbers to figure out which supplier is best for you.
