Brite Rapid Charge are delighted to announce (as are we at IEVA!) a significant price reduction on their High Power chargers in Galway, with the aim to continue to be the cheapest High Power Charge operator in the country. The main decrease is a 9% reduction for charging during the day from 7am to 5pm during the week. More significant is the 17% reduction from 5pm - 7pm during the week. With this, it is important for users to note that Brite Rapid Charge does not have a monthly subscription fee, and are offering this pricing as pay-as-you-go, and it does not require a membership plan as per other CPOs to obtain the best pricing. There is no update or change to the overstay fee time frame, this remains at €10 once you go over 1 hour of charging. This is an additional 15 minutes of charging before an overstay fee kicks in unlike most CPOs. Comparing this time to ESB ecars, as per their latest update to use a per minute overstay fee of €0.50 per minute, this would contribute an additional €7.50 to charge for a further 15 minutes. However, given these are high power units, not one customer to date has been charged an overstay fee! Good news in that regard!! You can compare the pricing differences of CPOs on our site. We try to keep this as up to date as possible, but you can see that Brite Rapid Charge at at the bottom of the table (in a good way!) Details on unit pricing and overstay fee breakdown is captured below.
We are delighted to welcome Brite Rapid Charge as out latest Corporate Sponsor to the Irish EV Association. Brite Rapid Charge is a new CPO starting their rollout of Charge Points in Galway, and one we are delighted to welcome as they are working to improve the rollout of Fast Charging hubs here in Ireland. While many may have already spotted them on our Facebook page and know their first location, the timing couldn't be better to extend a warm welcome and share the exciting news of their official launch and press release for their inaugural site today! The press release is below, but further details can be found on the Brite Rapid Charge site at https://brite.ie/ with details on pricing being found here: https://brite.ie/pricing Brite Rapid Charge launches the first multi space rapid EV charge station in the West of Ireland at Galway Retail Park today. Brite Rapid Charge, a Galway based private operator, founded by automotive executive Colin Barry in 2023 has begun the roll out of the most advanced Rapid EV charge network in Ireland this week. Brite’s strategic goal is to electrify Galway City and provide much needed charging services in a geographic location that has severely suffered from a lack of investment over the past few years. Brite’s first site at Galway Retail Park is in Ireland’s busiest retail park has tested extremely well in the past two weeks delivering the fastest speeds of any charger ever seen in the West of Ireland with 185KWH achieved on several occasions. Colin Barry said, “I am all about coming up with innovative solutions to how we reduce our carbon emissions, specifically around transport. It is very clear that the public want and need our service. Take this great example from last week, a lady driving her EV from Shannon airport to Ashford castle visited us after 11pm and managed to bag herself a fifty percent battery charge in just over fifteen minutes and she paid the cheapest rate of any EV provider in the country at €0.41. She paid with her credit card by tapping our payment terminal, she did not need to download our Fuuse app. We are looking forward to launching our second site this summer in Galway with ten charge spaces which will make it one of the largest EV charging hubs in Ireland. And don’t forget our taxi driver friends, we are offering a 10% discount to all taxi drivers in Galway on all our tariffs.” Attending the launch were Galway City Councillors Niall McNelis (Lab) and Clodagh Higgins (FG). A joint statement from the two GCC Councillors said, “We both support any infrastructural investments that will help Ireland achieve zero carbon transport goals. We acknowledge that Galway has lagged in providing options to EV owners to charge in public therefore with Brite’s drive to secure premium sites all over the west this is a great example of Irish private enterprise providing well needed public transport solutions and we welcome this whole heartedly. Brite’s momentum must be encouraged as we seek to reduce delays in ESB’s network role out and we specifically support Brite’s drive to open Salthill village’s first rapid charge hub at the Galway Tourist Office this year.” In conclusion, Colin Barry said, “Brite have what can be simply called a great network. We have access to the best sites, we have the best hardware partners in Siemens and the best Hardware support team in EV Ready. Our relationship with the ESB is strong and we recognise that they are an organisation that are having to rapidly change in order to tackle the huge growth in demand for public charging. We have a great relationship with EV drivers and we welcome further Government investment in subsidies for EVs and look forward to serving our customers in the years to come”.
