Irish EV Sales – May 2021

In May EV sales were up 268%, at a similar rate as the rest of the market, which resulted in a market share only slightly up to 9.08% (6.46% to date this year). The same VW duo leads the monthly sales for another month, with as new arrival the Skoda Enyaq which could be a very strong contender to lead the segment, and another crossover, the compact Mercedes EQA.

The Volkswagen ID.4 is still very strong on top with 742 units distributed so far this year, followed by the ID.3 and Kia e-Niro.

On top of this note 513 PHEV registrations, bringing the year to date to 7844 registrations of new cars with sockets (BEV and PHEVs) from January to May 2021.
