Irish EV Sales – March 2021

March is looking very strong for BEV sales in Ireland, with 1046 registrations totaling 11.28% market share, up 183% from 369 units and 6.14% in March 2020.

First deliveries of the Volkswagen ID.4 (411 units) sent the German SUV directly at the top of the segment this month, followed by the Nissan Leaf (156 units) and the Tesla Model 3 (148). The ID.3 that was holding the pole position so far this year is 5th with 61 units registered in March.

Overall in Q1, the Nissan Leaf is now leading with 445 sales, ahead of the ID.4 and Model 3. On top of these, and still over the first 3 months of the year, plug-in hybrids totalled for 2736 Sales and 5.68% Market Share. Q1 BEVs share is at 5.87% (2831 cars), to which we can add 335 electric and 11 plug-in vehicles.
