Irish EV Registrations – November 2022

While registration numbers are winding down for this year, plug-in vehicle registrations accounted for 41.15% of all new cars registered in Ireland in November.

Excluding imports, so far this year (January – November) there’s been a total of:

  • 15,590 battery-only electric vehicles (BEVs) registered, compared to 8.528 in the same period last year, and;
  • 7,671 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) registered, compared to 7,871 in the same period last year.

These represent 22.14% of all new cars registered so far this year (14.84% BEV, 7.30% PHEV).

Separately, new and used imports accounted for the following plug-in car registrations so far this year (January – November):

  • BEV 430
  • PHEV 2,936

Summary

The top-3 registered new BEVs in November were:

  1. Toyota BZ4X 122 (35.6%)
  2. Volkswagen ID.4 46 (13.4%)
  3. Nissan Leaf 23 (6.7%)

Of the 41.15% of new cars registered in November that were plug-in cars, it was comprised of:

  • BEV 343 (34.93%)
  • PHEV 61 (6.22%)
