Irish EV Registrations – May 2023

Plug-in vehicles accounted for 31.7% of all new cars registered in May, proportionately up on last month as the inevitable pre-232 licence plate decline in sales sets in, comprised of:

  • 1,718 (22.8%) BEVs, and;
  • 670 (8.9%) PHEVs.

Additional registrations from used imports in May accounted for a further:

  • 192 BEVs, and;
  • 395 PHEVs.

The top-3 registered new BEVs in May were:

  1. Volkswagen ID.4
  2. Tesla Model Y
  3. Toyota BZ4X
