IEVOA welcomes Irish gov’t COP26 declaration on zero emission cars

As part of the UN conference on climate change, COP26, a declaration was made to work together as a society to work towards all sales of new cars & vans being zero emission globally by 2040, and no later than 2035 in leading markets.

Minister Eamon Ryan commented, “Decarbonisation of transport is a major challenge globally and Ireland wants to play its part. We have recently agreed a highly ambitious Climate Action Plan which includes a 51% target for transport by 2030. Today’s declaration on reducing emissions from cars and vans is a strong signal of intent which I am happy to endorse.”
