2024 EV Registrations
2024: Passenger Cars
New plug-in vehicle registrations amounted to 24.7% for 2024, down from 27.2% in 2023, & comprised of:
- 17,459 (14.4%) BEVs, &;
- 12,538 (10.3%) PHEVs.
Compared to 2023 this indicates a 23.6% decrease in BEVs, & a 20.8% increase in PHEVs.
Additional registrations from used imports in the year amounted to:
- 1,631 BEVs, &;
- 8,019 PHEVs.
As with new registrations, this too points to increased registrations of PHEVs.
The top 5 most-registered new BEVs in the year were the:
- Tesla Model 3
- Volkswagen ID.4
- Tesla Model Y
- Kia EV6
- Hyundai Kona
The top 5 most-registered new PHEVs were the:
- Ford Kuga
- Hyundai Tucson
- Kia Sportage
- Volvo XC60
- BMW 5 Series
2024: Commercial
The number of plug-in light commercial vehicles registered amounted to 957, essentially unchanged from 2023, with the top 3 most-registered being the:
- Opel Vivaro
- Volkswagen ID Buzz
- Toyota Proace
Plug-in heavy commercial vehicles for the year amounted to 247, a 268.7% increase on 2023, & relate primarily to Wrightbus BEV buses.
